Medford Police to 'Closely' Watch Shady Medford Massage Parlor

Asian Body Works has reopened on 34 Riverside Street after being shutdown in July for allegedly offering sex in exchange for money.

Asian Body Works, a massage parlor in which a female employee was accused of offering sex for money, has reopened its doors for business in Medford Square.

Back in July, a woman who police did not identify, was arrested at the business on 34 Riverside Ave. Police claim she offered an undercover detective sexual service for money, prompting the parlor’s closure.

The massage parlor is once again open after being shutdown on July 16. Other area business owners have reported activity inside the massage parlor.

A Craigslist advertisement, which has since expired, announced the the parlor’s grand opening last week. The ad highlighted a “highly-skilled staff” that will offer “amazing, relaxing and therapeutic” body work in “quiet, private rooms.” Employees at Asian Body Work have previously gone on record stating the spa does not offer sexual favors to its customers.

Many Medford residents and officials are adamantly opposed to the business operating in town. Police officials say they will be keeping a close watch on the parlor’s operations.

“It’s just a sad testament that that’s what we have in the center of our city. But it’s going to be very closely monitored, and if people are there for unlawful purposes, they will be shut down again,” Police Chief Leo Sacco told the Medford Transcript.

The police department hopes to station an officer outside the establishment to monitor for any illegal activity that could take place in the future.
