Medford Reports Uptick In Mask, Glove Litter
The city requires people to wear face coverings when inside essential businesses.
MEDFORD, MA — City officials report an increase in improper disposal of masks and gloves. This has led to an uptick of masks and gloves littered on streets, sidewalks and parking lots, according to the city.
Residents are asked to reuse their masks if they're not disposable and throw personal protective equipment out in a trash barrel, along with regular trash.
The city has an order requiring employees and customers of essential businesses to wear masks or face coverings. The order does not require face coverings while outside, but officials echoed the CDC's suggestion to wear masks at all times.
