Medford Schools Forming Racial Equity Task Force
MPS is seeking students, staff members and parents to serve on the task force, which will address issues of racial inequity.
MEDFORD, MA — The Medford school district is forming a Racial Equity Task Force to address racial inequity concerns raised by current students and alumni. The goal is to develop a strategic and coordinated approach to address issues of equity, diversity and inclusion in the Medford Public Schools.
The task force will be a collaborative effort of students, faculty, parents, administrators and city staff. It is expected to start meeting in August.
The district is seeking three students, three staff members and three parents/caregivers to serve as volunteers on the task force. Members will be expected to attend a monthly meeting and potential additional hours, bringing the time commitment to about three hours per month.
