Pet of the Week: Maxine Came From Springfield After the Tornado
This dog needs a new home.

Meet Maxine. She’s a 7-year-old female Labrador mix who was transferred to ARL from another rescue organization.
Maxine was actually transferred from the Dakin Animal Shelter in Springfield after the tornado hit. Thankfully all of the shelter animals were safe but to help make space for the animals affected by the storm we were able to take a number of Dakin’s current residents.
Maxine is a very friendly girl who likes the company of people very much. She enjoys going for walks, hanging with humans and having a good time.

She does not, however, enjoy the company of other dogs but she may be able to live with another mellow dog. Although if you ask her, she would probably say that she wants to be the only pet in the home.
Although the staff and volunteers love Maxine here at the shelter, she is ready and waiting to find her forever home and spend her nights cozying up to her new family. Stop by to meet her or call to ask about her today.
