Tufts to Hold 'Ten Years Later' Concert Sunday [PHOTOS]

Concert will be held at Distler Hall Sunday.

Tufts University will be commemorating the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 Sunday with a concert, "Ten Years Later: Musical Responses to 9/11."

The show, which features works by Tufts composers as well as the world premier of Diana Dabby's September Quartet, takes place at 3 p.m. at Granoff Music Center. It is free and open to the public.

The Tufts University Department of Music and Tufts Composers presents a special memorial concert to commemorate the tenth anniversary of September 11 entitled: Ten Years Later: Musical Responses to 9/11. The concert will feature the world premiere of Diana Dabby’s entire “September Quartet,” commissioned by the Tufts New Music Ensemble in 2002.  Also featured are works by Tufts Composers Stefan Anderson, William Kenlon, Kevin Laba, John McDonald, Kevin Warren, and guest composer Stephen Hartke’s piano quartet “Beyond Words.” Guest artist Kenneth Radnofsky, saxophone, and faculty artist Donald Berman, piano, are among the featured soloists.  The concert, part of the Sunday at Tufts—Community Concert Series, will be held in the Distler Performance Hall at the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 3 p.m.  Admission is free and no tickets are required.
