Police Log: Arrests on Assault Charges, OUI

A Winchester man faces eight charges, including operating under the influence of liquor and drugs, stemming from a traffic stop Thursday.

Michael Birrle, 39, was arrested about 3:15 p.m. Thursday on the Mystic Valley Parkway; he is charged with operating under the influence of liquor (second offense), operating under the influence of drugs, possession of a class E drug (three counts), possession of a class C drug, and leaving the scene of property damage (two counts).

Also arrested between Sept. 20 and Sept. 22 was Mohammed Eldeb, 17, who was arrested at his 68 Wareham St. home Tuesday night and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery, resisting arrest, destruction of property, and threat to commit a crime.
