Serious Crash on 93; Traffic Stop Leads to Heroin Charges

Good morning, here's five things to know today:

  1. An accident with a tractor trailer and a car on I-93 in Medford Monday afternoon left one man in serious condition, as emergency responders had to use to jaws of life to free him from his car.
  2. Two Lawrence men were arrested last week after police allegedly found them with heroin and over $2,000. They were both released on personal recognizance by a district court judge the next day.
  3. City Council Meeting Tonight: City council returns to business from its summer off-season this week. On the agenda: discussion of the planned parking garage on Governors Avenue. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at . 
  4. Head to Distler Performance Hall on the campus at 8 p.m. tonight to hear "Ancient Mbira Music of Zimbabwe." The concert, featuring performances by Caution Shonhai and Erica Azim, is free to those with Tufts student IDs and $10 for the general public.
  5. Rain Possible: There's a 50 percent chance of rain showers today, with highs expected to be in the upper-60s, according to the National Weather Service. Tomorrow: Foggy with temperatures in the mid-70s.
