Krystle Campbell Mourned at Medford Funeral
Hundreds came to Medford Monday for the funeral of native Krystle Campbell, the 29-year-old Arlington resident killed in the bombing attacks at the Boston Marathon a week earlier. The funeral took place at St. Joseph's Church near Medford Square.
Many came to form a human shield in case the Westboro Baptist Church came to protest as they had threatened. The protesters never materialized. Campbell was later laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Bad Winter Puts Medford in $732K Budget Deficit
After an historically-bad winter, Medford finds itself in a $732,000 winter weather operations budget deficit. Cities either have to find a way to eliminate the deficit or they can carry it over to next year's budget.
If the city goes the latter route, however, Medford won't be able to spend whatever the dollar amount they carry over in next year's budget. Mayor Michael McGlynn's goal is to eliminate the debt.
