Hospital Gets 'Happy' When Coronavirus Patients Discharged

Health care workers at MelroseWakefield Hospital have been calling a "CODE HAPPY" to celebrate some sorely needed good news.

MELROSE, MA — Health care workers will take happiness where they can get it these days — especially in their own hospitals.

MelroseWakefield Hospital has been celebrating when a patient gets discharged from its coronavirus treatment units. The hospital posted a video Thursday showing workers — smiles certainly behind their masks — giving a round of applause to a patient leaving the unit.

It's known as a "CODE HAPPY." The hospital plays Pharrell Williams' upbeat hit "Happy" throughout the building, providing a much-needed boost during the health care crisis.
