Local Choral Society Seeks Members

The Polymnia Chorus currently has more than 40 members in Melrose, Malden, Wakefield, Stoneham and Saugus.

MELROSE, MA — The Melrose-based Polymnia Choral Society is seeking new members interested in joining their chorus.

Boasting a more than 70-year history, the chorus includes a repertoire of songs and style ranging from classical, to pop to musical theater.

The chorus currently numbers over 40 members from Melrose, Malden, Wakefield, Stoneham and Saugus, though it is welcoming new members from all area communities.

Polymnia meets on Tuesdays at the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church at 355 Franklin St. in Melrose. Rehearsals run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning on Sept. 6.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to sing with the chorus. Masks are optional but strongly encouraged. Singers should arrive at the Congregational Church at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 to allow time to verify vaccination status.
