Melrose City Council Reelects Its President

Leila Migliorelli was voted to serve her second consecutive term as the council's leader.

MELROSE, MA — Leila Migliorelli was unanimously reelected by her peers to serve her second straight term as City Council President.

Migliorelli has been a Melrose resident for a decade and is in the midst of her third term on the city council overall. When she is not governing over Melrose, she is working as the Senior Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship at her alma mater, Tufts University. According to the city, Migliorelli’s experience in the field of nonprofits spans more than 20 years.

“I am grateful for my colleagues for placing their trust in me again to lead the Council in 2025,” Migliorelli said. “I am hopeful that we can work together to effectively evaluate and deliberate the challenges and opportunities in front of us this year.”
