Melrose To Close Temp Library Ahead Of Grand Reopening
The Melrose Public Library has been under construction for more than two years.
MELROSE, MA — The city announced that the temporary space being used for a library will close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 ahead of the permanent reopening of its actual location next month.
The renovation of the Melrose Public Library on 69 West Emerson St. was first announced in January of 2023, with construction beginning soon after. Since then, a space at the Beebe School on 263 West Foster St. The newly-renovated library is slated to open on Tuesday, April 15 at 10 a.m.. Residents who have items rented from the library in between the closure and re-opening period are being asked to hold onto them until the Emerson Street location opens.
