Melrose Community Members Protest Trump

A protest took place near the center of the cay earlier this week.

MELROSE, MA — 100 community members from both Melrose and Wakefield stood at the intersection of Tremont Street and the Lynn Fells Parkway Tuesday afternoon in protest of President Donald Trump and his administration.

The organized event titled “March Forth on March 4th for Democracy” was co-sponsored by Mobilize Melrose and Indivisible Melrose/Wakefield, which are both local branches of national and state organizations respectively. The protest began at 12 p.m. and lasted for one hour.

“Our Democracy is under threat, but we will not yield to fascism,” protest organizers said in a statement. “We will stand together and fight back in defense of our rights, our communities, and our values.”
