Melrose Composes New Composting Opportunity
The city has partnered with a company that will provide curbside compost pickup for residents.

MELROSE, MA — The city has announced a partnership with curbside composting company Garbage to Garden in an effort to facilitate compost disposal for residents.
Interested residents can sign up for weekly compost curbside collection online for a monthly fee of $11.95. In addition, members will receive an annual reduction of $24 to their trash fee after they have been part of Garbage to Garden for six months.
“Time and time again, Melrose residents have shown their commitment to reducing household solid waste, protecting our environment, and making the city a climate and sustainability leader,” Mayor Jen Grigoraitis said.

Compostable items include meat, bones, dairy, and seafood.
