Melrose Coronavirus: City Suffers First Death Related To COVID-19
An elderly resident is the first person from Melrose to die from the coronavirus.

MELROSE, MA — An elderly resident has become the city's first death related to coronavirus, Mayor Paul Brodeur announced Wednesday night.
"It's horrible news, but I want folks to understand you don't need to feel helpless, there are still things you can do to help yourself and our community and flatten that curve," Brodeur said.
There are now 34 cases of COVID-19 in Melrose. The city reported 29 cases Tuesday night.

Brodeur also said in his nightly update the National Guard on Tuesday delivered thermometers to the Melrose Fire Department.
