Melrose Coronavirus Updates: 1 Week Later, City Has 29 Cases
Last Tuesday the city announced its first three cases. That number has multiplied by nearly 10 in a week.

MELROSE, MA — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Melrose jumped to 29, Mayor Paul Brodeur said in his nightly video update Tuesday. All the cases have only come up in the past week, with the city's first cases being announced the previous Tuesday.
There have been no deaths attributed to COVID-19 among city residents, Brodeur said.
The death toll in Massachusetts has hit 89 and the total cases have exceeded 6,000.

Real total coronavirus numbers, both locally and at the statewide level, are likely higher, but a lack of testing and some people being asymptomatic have made it hard to track.
