Melrose Cultural Council Grant Application Cycle Begins
Residents and organizations can apply to have their community events funded.

MELROSE, MA — The Melrose Cultural Council is accepting grant applications online from now through Thursday, Oct. 16.
Each year, the Melrose Cultural Council is given a certain amount of grant money by the Massachusetts Cultural Council in which it is used to fund various enrichment initiatives throughout the city. The council is comprised of nine members, two of which are student representatives from the district. For 2026, it is prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion. The priority was decided based on the results of a community outreach survey.
The Council is seeking proposals for community-oriented arts, cultural, and interpretive sciences events and programming with broad public benefit and impact that will take place in the calendar year of 2026. The council recently became able to fully fund projects, so that applicants will not have to seek additional funding sources. A total of 32 grants were awarded in last year’s cycle, totaling approximately $38,000.
