Melrose To Deliver 5 Masks To Each Household
Melrose is embarking on a wide-scale effort to deliver 62,000 masks across the city next week.

MELROSE, MA — More than 60,000 masks will be delivered to residents next week in a wide-scale effort to provide everyone with a face covering.
Health Director Ruth Clay said at Wednesday night's Board of Health meeting that five masks will be delivered to each household on Monday and perhaps into Tuesday. The masks will be delivered in a bag.
The city has 62,000 masks in hand, having purchased most of them. Clay said the city will be reimbursed for most of the cost.

The news of the mask deliveries comes the same day Gov. Charlie Baker's order that everyone over the age of 2 must wear face coverings in public when social distancing is not possible, as well as in businesses and public transportation, goes into effect. Failure to comply could mean a $300 fine and being denied entry to businesses.
