Melrose Education Foundation Spreads Funds Across School District
The non-profit has agreed to supply finances for a handful of unique projects.

On Monday, the non-profit Melrose Education Foundation announced its plans to dole out $5,200 to worthy Melrose educators, as part of its Spring 2015 Mini-Grants Initiative.
Every school in the district got a least a piece of the grant money, from the Franklin ECC to Melrose High, according to a media statement from the foundation.
These grants are intended to finance professional development opportunities for educators, create more resources for U.S. History students, support a new civics course at Melrose Veterans Memorial High School, create new advanced English Language Arts options for grades 3-5, launch innovative pilot programming that discourages sedentary seating, gather project-based geography materials for 6th graders, Solar Robot Kits at the Winthrop School, and gardening projects at the Roosevelt School.
