MELROSE, MA — Residents should begin getting mask deliveries from the city Tuesday after a rainy day pushed the deliveries back.

The city last week said they would deliver a bag with five masks to every household in Melrose. Mayor Paul Brodeur assured people there is a plan for people in apartment buildings, condos and multifamily homes.

The masks will be in brown paper bags, Brodeur said.

Melrose has some 62,000 masks in stock after making large purchases. (It expects to be reimbursed for most of the cost.)

The city has received high praise for the delivery plan, leading the way in acquiring and delivering masks after Gov. Charlie Baker ordered residents to wear face coverings in public when social distancing isn't possible.
