Mailing Things May Become A Bit Harder In Melrose

MELROSE, MA — The city announced that the Melrose Post Office on 23 Essex St. has been temporarily closed for repairs.

According to City Hall, the city was unaware of the closure until after it took place, as the United States Postal Service has jurisdiction and management over the operations of the building. The USPS has not revealed what repairs are being conducted or when the post office will reopen. In the meantime, the city is encouraging P.O. box holders to utilize the Malden Post Office on 109 Mountain Ave.
