MelroseWakefield Physician Recognized For Teaching Skills

MELROSE, MA — Dr. Kristyn Newhall has been named the 2024 recipient of the Competency-based Apprenticeship in Primary Care Teaching Award from Tufts University’s School of Medicine.

Dr. Newhall, who is the Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Family Medicine at Tufts, also works as a family medicine physician at MelroseWakefield Hospital. She received her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, and later completed her residency at the Tufts’s Family Medicine Residency at Cambridge Health Alliance.

The apprenticeship aims to recognize a primary care teacher who was shown great commitment to teaching in the field, and also produced effective results.

Currently, Dr. Newhall primarily practices at Tufts Medical Center Community Care in Malden.
