Parade Of Sirens, Lights Show MelroseWakefield Hospital The Love

MELROSE, MA — Health care workers at MelroseWakefield were given a rare and well-deserved break from coronavirus late Thursday afternoon.

A couple dozen workers stood outside the hospital as a lengthy procession of police cars, fire trucks and ambulances from 18 North Shore departments drove by, lights and sirens blaring. A State Police helicopter even circled the hospital.

Workers appreciated the acknowledgment of their services during this crisis. There were smiles and thumbs ups all around.

MelroseWakefield Hospital was treating 48 COVID-19 patients, with 11 in the ICU, according to Thursday's numbers from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
