Melrose Girl Scout Troop 71236 held Turtle Day at Ell Pond on Saturday, June 26. The main attraction was a live turtle exhibit from the New England Herpetological Society, which featured an eastern box turtle — who enjoyed trying to escape his fenced-in home — a red-eared slider and a large snapping turtle, who the kids were reminded not to touch or pet.
