Recycling Opportunity Returning To Melrose
A State Rep. is spearheading the city's fourth annual sustainability day.

MELROSE, MA — The city announced that its annual Recycling and Sustainability Day will be on Saturday, May 17.
The event will be the fourth of its kind in Melrose and is once again put together by State Rep. Kate Lipper-Garabedian. Community members will have the opportunity to get rid of unwanted items in a way that is beneficial to the environment. Residents can bring a wide variety of household items, from dishware and clean bedding to electronic appliances, to the Melrose Street entrance of the public high school between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m
Numerous entities will be present to facilitate the proper disposal of goods. National Grid will offer a rebate for old dehumidifiers, Zero Waste Melrose will be accepting plastics that are not picked up by curbside recycling, and Green Team Junk Removal will take electronics off Melrosians’ hands for a small fee.
