Saturday Morning Abduction Attempt on Vinton Street Remains Under Investigation
Melrose Police are asking anyone with information on the incident, which occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, to call 781-665-1212.

The Melrose Police Department report that a woman was nearly abducted on early Saturday morning near the intersection of Vinton and North High streets.
According to a release issued by the department, the woman had been jogging down Vinton Street when a man inside a white van with tinted windows attempted to pull the woman inside the back of the vehicle.

The woman resisted, and the van escaped down Vinton Street, holding the alleged suspect and his accomplice, both described as clean shaven white males with baseball caps.
Police had no updates on the incident as of 6:20 p.m., and said the incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information on the occupants of the van or who was near the area around the time of 9:30 a.m. is asked to notify Melrose Police at 781-665-1212.
