MELROSE, MA — State Rep. Kate Lipper-Garabedian (D, Melrose) hosted her latest Community Conversation earlier this month.

The 13th edition of the program focused on financial stability resources for older adults and senior citizens. It included presentations from State Treasurer's Office of Economic Empowerment Outreach Manager Michael McLeish, LeadingEdge Massachusetts President Elissa Sherman, Massachusetts Council On Aging Economic Security Manager Hayley Wood, Mystic Valley Elder Services Director Carla Matute, and 32nd Middlesex District Estates Attorney Erin Nobles.
Topics discussed by Lipper-Garabedian and the aforementioned guest speakers included retirement preparation, budgeting for healthcare expenses, and considering housing options.
Lipper-Garabedian named the program as one component of the bill she filed in the House of Representatives to support older adults’ financial stability.

“This Community Conversation served as a jumpstart on that concept, emphasizing the importance of financial planning to ensure one can age securely and with dignity,” Lipper-Garabedian said.
