2 Finalists Picked For Milford Elementary School Principal Job

MILFORD, MA —The search for a new Brookside Elementary principal is down to two finalists, with both candidates set to meet with school officials and parents on Tuesday.

Milford Superintendent Kevin McIntyre announced the candidates at Thursday's school committee meeting. They are:

Vicky Houston — The current Brookside assistant principal, who began her teaching career in Milford at the Stacy School. She also served as the district's assistant special education director and out of district coordinator.

Damian Sugrue — Most recently the assistant principal at Whitin Intermediate School in Uxbridge, and previously principal at Luther Conant School in Acton and Douglas Intermediate Elementary. He was also a teacher in Ashland for 14 years.

Brookside's current principal, Eric Elmore, was hired in 2018 and came to Milford from an elementary school in Indianapolis.

Sugrue and Houston will meet on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Milford High School with teachers and school staff, and then at 5:30 p.m. with Brookside parents and guardians. Residents who want to meet with the candidates should email mbullock@milfordma.com.
