MILFORD, MA — Milford residents who want to stay protected against coronavirus can head to a booster shot clinic in April at the Birmingham Court complex.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending a second booster for anyone who's eligible. As of April, anyone over age 50 and anyone over 18 who is immunocompromised can get a second booster if four months have passed since the last booster shot.

Following a lull after the omicron wave in January and February, coronavirus cases are back on the rise in Massachusetts. The state reported 6,514 new cases on Tuesday after the Easter weekend, and the statewide positive test rate ticked up from 3.89 to 4.2 percent.
