5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 3
Milford Superintendent Bob Tremblay will be interviewed by a high school student, RJ Sheedy, in an episode airing on Milford TV this week.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. Due to the Fourth of July holiday, recycling and trash will not be collected on Thursday. Thursday and Friday pickups will be delayed by a day, as a result. So, if your trash is normally picked up Thursday, put it out Friday. If it's Friday, put it out Saturday. Next week, everything is back on schedule.
2. The Milford town fireworks are set to go off at 10 p.m. Wednesday, with the best viewing at Plains Park. Where else can you see the show? Readers say Target's lot is good, but also fills quickly. What are your suggestions? Comment below.
3. The new Patch design now features a central announcement rail. Several Milford posters have discovered this, and added their desire to rid themselves of usable, but no longer wanted, TV sets. Do you have something to buy, sell or share? Post it here.
4. The Milford Performing Arts Center is holding a series of summer workshops for children and teens, ages 11 and up, in the performing and visual arts. The sessions start Monday. See the event announcement for more details.
5. Milford High School student RJ Sheedy, who has a talk show on Milford TV, will interview Superintendent Robert Tremblay in a show episode that will begin to air Thursday, July 4. They'll be talking about the Pathways Program, school security, The Woodland building project, the high school schedule changes and more issues.
