MA Student, 11, Slashed With Razor During School Fight

A 12-year-old will likely be charged after the Thursday slashing, according to police.

BLACKSTONE, MA — A 12-year-old Blackstone student is heading to Milford Juvenile Court after he slashed another student during a fight on Thursday, according to local police.

According to Blackstone police, the 12-year-old and the victim, an 11-year-old, are both students at Frederick W. Hartnett Middle School. Near 8:30 a.m. Thursday, the 12-year-old slashed the victim's hand, police said.

"The two students are known to each other and police do not have reason to believe that there was any threat against the larger school community," Blackstone police said in a news release.

The victim required stitches for his hand police said.

Although police expect to charge the 12-year-old, he had not as of Thursday. Police expect to issue a summons in the coming days.

Police do not typically release the identities of juveniles either facing criminal charges or who are victims of crimes.
