'Felony Lane Gang' Floods Bellingham Bank, Leads To I-495 Pursuit
The Thursday afternoon incident led to a police pursuit up I-495 and down Route 9, Bellingham police said.
BELLINGHAM, MA — The appearance of a notorious East Coast theft gang in Bellingham Thursday sparked a police pursuit that ended in Southborough.
According to Bellingham police, a 911 caller Thursday afternoon reported the appearance of members of the "Felony Lane Gang" at a bank. The gang targets parking lots, where they break into cars to steal checks and debit cards. The gang members then go to the nearest bank branch to withdraw money from their victims' bank accounts, according to police.
When Bellingham police arrived at the bank, one member of the gang fled in a car and another ran away. Police followed the driver up I-495, but handed the pursuit off to state police. Police lost the car in traffic, and it was found later abandoned along Route 9 in Southborough. The other gang member who ran from the Bellingham bank was picked up by another driver and got away.
