Foxwoods Massachusetts Announces Community Meetings

Beginning tonight, Foxwoods executives will hold a series of informational meetings at Milford sites to discuss the Milford casino project.

The developer of the proposed Foxwoods Massachusetts casino in Milford will hold a series of community meetings, beginning Thursday night, to speak to residents about its project.

The meetings, which are open to the public, will provide an "open exchange of information on the benefits and impact of the development," according to a release.

They are scheduled as follows:

  • Thursday, June 27, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Hoboken Citizen’s Club, 252 Central St., Milford.
  • Monday, July 1, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Portuguese Club, 119 Prospect Heights, Milford.
  • Tuesday, July 2, 6:30 to 8 p.m., DoubleTree Hotel, 11 Beaver St., Milford.
Scott Butera, the chief executive officer and president of Foxwoods Resorts Casino, the chief partner in the Foxwoods Massachusetts development, said feedback from residents will be incorporated into the plans.

“As we continue to meet with Milford town officials and citizens on a daily basis, we learn more about Milford's unique character and incorporate feedback into our planning,” he said, in a statement. “This is a complex project that requires careful consideration to be done right, and these meetings will provide yet another opportunity for the voices of Milford residents to be heard.”

In addition to the community meetings, four public presentation meetings focused on specific topics have been scheduled for July. Those meetings will be moderated by the town's consultants, and will include public officials, casino executives and consultants working for the town and developer.
