Meat Market, Cantino Goyano, More: Milford's Health Inspections

MILFORD, MA—The following inspections were supplied by the Milford Board of Health:

• Bahia & Bakery 96 Main St. 1-11-18 Violations here include the following. Do not store bag of rice on the floor in the small area used for dry goods must be stored off the floor, foods in the walk in cooler are to be covered and stored off the ground, cover foods in the chest freezer and install a visible thermometer, knives are to be cleaned and sanitized including to where the blade inserts into the handle, clean 2 burner stove top and surface area of the wok station. r Re-inspection scheduled. Re-inspected and found violations corrected.
• 5 Guys 9 Medway Rd. 1-18-18 Need additional staff certified in C.P.R.
• Water St. Meat Market 3 Water St 1-22-18 Violations here include the following. Basement area needs cleaning and organizing making it orderly, both walk in units are in need of better safer proper storage of food products (stored placed with care), basement dry goods storage room also needs greater care with placement and storage of food products, keep hand-sink open uncluttered and available for its use handwashing, need new cutting boards present ones have seen their days with food stains and knife marks to deep to properly clean time for new ones, bone saw is to be cleaned and sanitized every 4 hours including the housing, and need visible thermometers in cooler and freezers where missing or buried. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected on 1-29-18 and found violations corrected. Big difference in the store.
• Blair House 20 Claflin St. 1-29-18 One violation here. Need to clean the topside interior of the microwave oven.
• Alamo 55 Medway Rd. 1-25-18 Clean and sanitize the blue plastic holder used for the ice scoop for the basement ice machine, exhaust fan right above this holder needs to be cleaned due to an accumulation of dust dirt and grease, appetizers need to be covered in the chest freezer, the floor area needs to be cleaned in this same general area esp. around corners edges and legs of equipment, clean and sanitize entire manual can opener housing unit, convection oven needs a good through cleaning inside and out, and kitchen ceiling needs attention again possibly painting and or repair. A re-inspection is scheduled.
• 7-11 127 Main St. 1-25-18 Violations here include the following. Mop sink and surrounding area need a good cleaning and repair show signs of neglect, need a visible thermometer in the 2 door Beverage Air freezer in the same back storage room, hand sink in the back storage room is a mess needs cleaning disinfection and free of clutter so it is available for it’s intended use, and clean base of the multi-door cooler where grocery is located.
• Acapulcos 231 E. Main St. 1-24-18 Violations here include the following. Food products in both sections of the walk in cooler need to be covered, base of 3 door freezer needs to be cleaned due to liquid food spills, also clean exterior of this same unit., time to change the oil in the fryers, and appetizers need to be covered in the small single door cooler.
• A Step in Time 195 West St. 1-23-18 There are no violations here.
• 19th Golf & Grill 350 E. Main St. 1-30-18 Violations here include the following. Pans of food not covered in the walk in cooler, people working with food in any capacity must wear effective hair restraints, ice scoop cannot be stored in the ice bin at the waitress station.
• Aldi’s 225 E. Main St. 1-30-18 No violations here.
• Arco’s Market 34 Main St. 1-29-18 Do not leave the ice scoop in the ice in the back storage room to prevent bare hand contact with ready to eat foods (ice), keep band saw clean and sanitized and always ready for its next use.
• Bills Pizza 126 Main St. 2-1-18 Need visible thermometers in 2 out of three chest freezers, clean and disinfect the employees restroom, clean and scrub the 2 burner stove top, change oil in the fryers, clean the floor in the walk in cooler and install a visible thermometer, clean the small flat top (scour it), need to change the cutting boards. Re-inspection scheduled.
• Applebee’s 91 Medway Road 1-31-18 Violations here include the following. Clean and sanitize the small hand sink in the small prep area on the other side of the main line kitchen area, Empty out and clean out the interior of the Traulsen 2 door freezer unit. And clean the floor area under the equipment in the bar area esp. under the ice bin.
• Family Convenience Mini Mart 96 Main St. 2-2-18 Boxes of potatoes cannot be stored on the floor, and need a thermometer for the chest freezer.
• Freihofers Outlet Bakery 209 E. Main St. 2-2-18 No violations here.
• Ali Sunoco 146 S. Main St. 2-2-18 No violations here.
• Garden Pizza 92 Prospect St. 2-6-18 Violations here included the following. Clean the floor throughout the kitchen where obvious dirt and food debris buildup this would include edges corners under equipment esp. towards the back door but complete area needs to be done, clean exteriors of both microwave ovens, get the ware-washing area under control clean it organize it make sure equipment and utensils are clean sanitary and stored safely, no food in cardboard boxes can be stored on the floor in the walk in cooler, the Marlite walls behind the food slicers need to be cleaned, and clean ceiling vents directly above the pizza ovens. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected on 2-13-18 and found violations to be corrected.
• Evergreen Center 345 Fortune Blvd. 2-8-18 Do not block hand sink from it’s intended purpose, and there is a leak in the faucet at the 2 bay sink in the smaller kitchen.
• Purchase St. Market 89 Purchase St. 2-7-18 Clean and sanitize the magnetic knife strip, keep rear basement door closed in order to prevent the entrance of pests or vermin, and repair large area of sheetrock in this same area.
• Bread Bowl Café 319.5 Main St. 2-15-18 Clean the interior of the microwave oven.
• Milford H.S. 31 W. Fountain St. 2-15-18 One violation here. Need to clean the interior front edges of the convection ovens due to burnt on food debris.
• Big Lots 146 S. Main St. 2-12-18 No violations here.
• B.C.C. Food Pantry 208 Main St. Suite 201 This is a very small food pantry with one household type refrigerator/freezer equipped with thermometers, all food products a bagged boxed cans or jars with no foods outdated. It is a clean room well maintained with no pest activity noted. Food pantry is by appointment only.
• Cantino Goyano 163 Main St. 2-9-18 Violations here include the following. Time to do some housekeeping in the back storage room, food products cannot be stored on the floor in the back dry goods storage room, clean and scrub the racks in the walk in cooler really good, clean and scub the 12 burner stove top, clean the exterior of the rice cooker, silverware has to be stored with the handles facing the user. Critical violation involved need hotter hot water in the restroom temperature at time of inspection was 100 degrees. Need at least 110 degrees. Critical violation corrected 2-12-18. Remaining violations to be corrected 2-20-18 Re-inspected on 2-20-18 and found remaining violations corrected. A new rice cooker has been ordered and new plastic racks will be installed in the walk in cooler.
• Burger King 22 Beaver St. 2-16-18 No violations here Nothing to find here.
• Café Sorrento 143 Central St. 2-20-18 Violations here include the following. In the basement need to get bags of food products off the floor close them tight and cover one bin containing food product, basement itself needs general cleaning and organization sweep it out get things off the ground can look a lot better than it does now, back door needs to be kept closed so nothing (pests, vermin, rodents) can enter, cover appetizers in the Pepsi cooler, interior of the convection oven is in need a good through cleaning, 12 burner stove top needs scrubbing, ice baths for the salad dressings needs to be higher, clean and disinfect the men’s room toilet, and pull everything out of the first beer cooler get the water out clean it thoroughly then restock it. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected 2-28 and found all but one violation corrected.
• Brookside School 110 Congress St. 2-16-18 No hot water at prep sink or hand sink. This critical violation was corrected the next day.
• Central Tavern 31 Central St. 2-22-18 Need to install a thermometer in the large chest freezer in the basement, basement is ok but in need of some general housekeeping on the right side of the basement where the walk in keg cooler is located, need paper towel for the holder near hand sink in the ware washing area, need a visible thermometer in the freezer in the kitchen, clean the fryers and change the oil for both units, foods need to be covered in the walk in cooler, clean the interior of the microwave oven or get a new one, at the bar area need to store the ice scoop in a clean sanitary safe method,
