Milford 2021 Fall Leaf Pickup Schedule Released

Leaf removal begins in November in Milford, according to the public works department.

MILFORD, MA — It's time to break out the rakes — although you have a little time before you head out into the yard.

Milford this week released the 2021 leaf removal schedule. Pickup starts on Nov. 1, and the leaf dump will be open four days per-week. Here's more from a town news release:

  • Leaves must be raked to the edge of the sidewalk or front property line (if no sidewalk exists).
  • Do not rake leaves onto the sidewalk or into the street. Per article 13 of the Milford general by-laws, sweeping materials onto streets or sidewalks is prohibited and violators will be prosecuted.
  • Do not bag leaves for curbside removal.
  • No household garbage, trash, grass, sticks, rocks, etc. will be accepted. Leaf collection equipment will only pick up leaves.
  • Do not pile leaves under low hanging branches.
  • If you cover your leaves, the cover must be removed prior to the first day of your scheduled pick-up.
  • Bulk of leaves will be vacuumed. Disposal of remaining leaves will be the responsibility of the homeowner.

Due to time restraints and inclement weather, we are unable to return for a second pick-up. Residents must have their leaves out on the Monday of the scheduled week or they will forfeit the service. If we have finished a route early, we will be jumping ahead to the next route. We will also go through that next route from start to finish again, on their scheduled week. Leaf Removal hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
