Milford Chooses Gomez over Markey, Bucking State Results
The majority of Milford voters did not reflect the state results in selecting Edward Markey as U.S. Senator Tuesday. Candidate Gabriel Gomez won the town's vote.

The majority of Milford voters selected Gabriel Gomez, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, in the special state election Tuesday.
electing him to the Senate seat relinquished by John Kerry, now the Secretary of State.
In Milford, the unofficial vote Tuesday was 2,101 for Gomez, and 1,949 for Markey.

Markey also was not the choice of Milford Democrats in the primary. Most local Dems chose Stephen Lynch in that contest.
Milford has eight precincts. Precincts 1,2 and 4 chose Markey over Gomez, while the remaining five all went for Gomez, according to the results released Tuesday night by Town Clerk Amy Hennessey Neves.
