Milford Opening Cooling Centers During Wave Of Intense Heat
The heat index could reach near 100 in Milford on Thursday and Friday, according to forecasts.

MILFORD, MA — Milford is directing residents to three cooling centers across town with oppressively hot weather expected on Thursday and Friday.
The three cooling centers will be open during various times over the next three days and are open to anyone who needs them. The centers will not be serving food.
- Milford Senior Center, 60 North Bow St., on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Milford Town Library, 80 Spruce St., on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Milford Police Department lobby, 250 Main St., will be available Saturday all day.
According to the National Weather Service, air temperatures in the low 90s and upper 80s will combine with dew points in the 70s to create temperatures that will feel like they're in the triple-digits.

The maximum heat indices in the Milford area will be between 95 and 100 over the next three days, according to the latest forecast.
