Milford Police to Conduct 'Compliance Checks' of Local Liquor Establishments
The checks will be conducted throughout September.

The Milford Police Department announced Thursday that it plans to boost checks on local liquor establishments in town to help combat underage drinking.
The department received a $5,000 grant to help with the effort, one of 76 police departments to receive such a fund, according to Milford Police Lt. James Falvey.
The money, Falvey said in a statement, “will fund a variety of law enforcement activities including stings/compliance checks for minors in bars, restaurants and retail locations; reverse stings; ‘shoulder tap’ and ‘Cops in Shops’ programs; and party patrols.”
