Milford Race For 'Underachievers' Benefits Special Olympics
The first Justin and Ray 0.5K race will be held Sunday "to celebrate mediocrity at its finest."
MILFORD, MA — Do you not have what it takes? Are you unwilling to go the distance? Do you always bring your D game?
Then heck, do we have an athletic event for you.
The first Justin and Ray 0.5K — that's right, half a kilometer — will get off to a sluggish start on Sunday afternoon in Milford. Billed as a race for underachievers "to celebrate mediocrity at its finest," the run will act as a fundraiser for actual athletes from the Milford Area Special Olympics.

Organizers are billing the race as the shortest in Milford history.
The deadline to "run" in the 0.5K passed on June 8, but the organizers are still looking for $50 donations to sponsor the participating "runners." Again, the money will go to actual Special Olympics athletes.

If you want to witness the worst of human athletic achievement, the 0.5K event begins Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Turtle Tavern. The underachievers will then make their way an amazing 0.3 miles south to Caffe Sorrento along Central Street.
And get this: organizers are providing a comfort station at the halfway point, offering coffee — and donuts.
