The grant is from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

MILFORD, MA — Milford High School was awarded a grant to support its jewelry and metalsmithing classes.

Anne Snyder, an art and design teacher, was awarded $5,000 from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to support jewelry-making and metalsmithing classes at the school. The money will help purchase essential tools, materials and equipment, as well as ensure equitable opportunities for students to enroll in the classes.

Milford High School has a jewelry and small metalsmithing course for its students. The class offers hands-on workshops in smoldering, casting, stone-setting and metal fabrication. There are also field trips to studios, galleries and museums, as well as guest lectures from industry professionals.
