Milford Schools Gets Nearly $100K For Literacy Program

A total of $3.3 million was awarded across the state.

MILFORD, MA — The Healey Administration announced last week that Milford Public Schools will receive $96,245 in funding.

A total of $3.3 million in state funding for literacy programs was awarded across Massachusetts, according to a news release. Milford Public Schools was one of 25 districts which was granted the money as part of the Partnership for Reading Success III.

The PRISM III grants will help implement lasting improvements in English language arts and literacy instruction for students from fourth through 12th grade, according to a news release.

It will ensure students have access to high-quality and evidence-based instruction in literacy.

“Massachusetts has the best education system in the country, but we know more needs to be done to ensure all of our students have the tools they need to be lifelong readers and learners,” said Governor Maura Healey.
