New Principal Picked For Milford's Brookside Elementary

MILFORD, MA — Milford Public Schools has elevated an assistant principal to become principal at Brookside Elementary School, according to Superintendent Kevin McIntyre.

Vicky Houston, Brookside's current assistant principal, was picked for the job after making it to the finalist round along with one other candidate from outside the district. Houston will take over after Brookside Principal Eric Elmore leaves the role at the end of the school year.

Houston began her teaching career in Milford at the Stacy School. She also previously served as the district's assistant special education director and out of district coordinator. She has a bachelor's degree from Framingham State University, and a master's degree in special education from Providence College.

Houston was a finalist along with Damian Sugrue, who was most recently the assistant principal at Whitin Intermediate School in Uxbridge, and previously principal at Luther Conant School in Acton and Douglas Intermediate Elementary.
