Police Log: Uncle Accused of Taking Wallet, Cell Phone, Crash with Injury

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

7:26 p.m.: A caller said his uncle came into a house with a baseball bat and took a wallet and a cell phone. He then left the house. Police responded. Police are seeking a summons to charge James M. Landry, 56, of 26 A St., Franklin, with assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and larceny from a building.

8:51 p.m.: The state Department of Children and Families asked for an escort on a well-being check. Police are seeking a summons to charge Segundo Manuel Chuqui-Yunga, 26, of 83 School St., Apt. 2, Milford, with aggravated assault and battery, resulting in serious injury and intimidating a witness.

10:16 p.m.: An officer was investigating a report of a theft at Sam's Energy on Main Street.

Thursday, Jan. 16

9:00 a.m.: A man fell on a sidewalk on West Street and hit his head. He was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

11:59 a.m.: An officer was investigating a report of a hit and run on Court Square.

12:28 p.m: EZ Way Car Wash reported a possible scam involving a phony National Grid caller.

1:09 p.m.: Milford Regional Medical Center staff requested an officer for a report on a weapon related injury.

4:41 p.m.: An officer was investigating a theft by credit card.

5:18 p.m: Police responded to Fortune Boulevard, where a caller reported a two-car crash, with the second vehicle having left the scene. Police found the second vehicle in the Target parking lot. An ambulance was called for a person complaining of neck pain.
