MILFORD, MA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Rosemary Cerqueira who nominated Amanda Pelletier of Milford.

What makes your Mom extra special?

Amanda has two children. Her oldest Max, who is 4 ... and she has Olivia, who is 6 months old. She is an unbelievable mom. Every day she takes her lunch break in her car so she can transport Max from day care in Milford to his special education program in Millville. The program is one of the best in the state, but is out of the way for her and it’s only [a part-time program]. Then she returns to Millville to pick up Max and drives him back to daycare. Olivia is in daycare as well. To make up the lost time, she works late every day . She is exhausted but never complains and is always smiling. She also lives to volunteer at work on special community projects like on Halloween. She also is a very talented carpenter and has made furniture for her son to make his life and her life easier. On weekends, she takes her kids to soccer and swimming. She does it all and never complains, because her children come first in her life. I so admire the love and the patience she has for her children. And it wonderful to see how well they are thriving.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

There are very few women who can juggle a home, full-time job, be an outstanding wife and mother and still have time to volunteer.

Happy Mother's Day to Amanda Pelletier, and thank you for all you do!
