Worcester County Sheriff Distributes Winter Coats For Those In Need
Sheriff Lewis Evangelidis and his team distributed 4,000 winter jackets at more than 30 stops across the county this season.

MILFORD, MA — The Worcester County Sheriff's office made a stop in Milford as part of its annual coat distribution.
Sheriff Lewis Evangelidis and his team distributed 4,000 winter jackets at more than 30 stops across the county during November and early December. The coats were given to nonprofits in the greater Worcester area, Northern Worcester County, and Southern Worcester County, to make sure that residents across the region have access to warm winter apparel.
Some of those jackets will now be distributed to those in need by Milford police's Family Services Unit, and some will be shared with Chris' Corner - Recovery Resource Center and Pathway to a Better Life, which is a temporary warming shelter in Milford.

The jackets were purchased by the Worcester County Reserve Deputy Sheriff’s Association, a nonprofit that raised funds to support the coat drive and other community-focused programs.
“Handing out these coats each year is truly a joy,” said Sheriff Evangelidis. “They represent far more than a warm layer for winter. They reflect a community and law enforcement organization that cares. The individuals who receive these jackets are always grateful, and this drive gives our department a special opportunity to connect with the communities we serve.”
