2 Struck, Killed By Train On Natick Commuter Rail Tracks

The train strike caused hours of delays on the Framingham/Worcester line during commuting hours on Monday evening.

NATICK, MA — Two people died after they were hit by a commuter train, heavily affecting rail service on Monday afternoon.

The MBTA announced on Monday that trains were canceled or delayed on Monday due to "police activity on the right of way in the Natick area."

Commuter rail service on the line didn't fully return to normal until around 8:30 p.m., a roughly four-hour service impact from the first train cancelation at 4:30 p.m.

Details remain sparse, but the Middlesex District attorney confirmed to WCVB that two people were struck and killed by a train. The accident happened on the commuter rail tracks near Washington Avenue.

Officials said foul play isn't suspected at this point in the investigation.
