Ava Nichols-Kalinowski Plays In 'Helen On 86th St'

Seventh grader from Marlborough Ava played the role of 'Franny' to help the 'Helen On 86th St' play become successful.

From Worcester Academy: Ava Nichols-Kalinowski of Marlborough, Grade 7, contributed to the success of the Worcester Academy Middle School Musical, "Helen on 86th St.," which was staged from Jan. 25-27 at the Worcester Academy Performance Center. Ava played the role of "Franny."

The musical, which is a Kaufman, Kempskie and Stamper collaboration, focuses on 12-year-old "Vita Calista" as she learns to cope with an absent father, a single mother, a disappointing role inside the Trojan Horse in the school play, and the daily pressures of being a 'tween growing up in New York City.

The students were honored to perform the show for Helen On 86th St. author Nicole Kempskie, who said she loved the WA performance.
