From road closures and helicopter flyovers to where to watch the race, here's what to know for the 2024 Boston Marathon in Natick.

NATICK, MA — The 128th running of the Boston Marathon will kick off in Hopkinton on Monday with runners winding their way through 26.2 miles of Greater Boston.
That includes Natick, where runners will continue on the route for just over four miles, including the ever-important 10th mile.
As those who've been in the area for the marathon will know, Route 135 will be closed off to drivers as runners make their way from Hopkinton to Ashland to Framingham to Natick and beyond.

In Natick, road closures will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., according to the Boston Marathon spectator's guide.
Natick police have posted a detour route to Natick Mall for those who will need it, which can be found at the link here.
According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, A U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration helicopter will be conducting low-flying aerial radiation assessment surveys over the Boston Marathon route between Thursday and Monday.
Officials said the flyovers are a normal piece of the preparation process for the marathon.
Where To Watch
The spectator's guide includes recommendations on the best place to take in the race in Natick. Here's what it says:
"With Fisk Pond as a backdrop, crowds gather on both sides of the road to cheer on participants before they hit Natick Center. Spectators pack Natick Common on Center Street, or take in beautiful views along Fisk Pond and Lake Cochituate."
