Call It A Comeback: Sur La Table Returning To Natick Mall After 2020 Bankruptcy, Closure
After closing its Natick Mall location in 2020, Sur La Table will be returning to the Natick Mall as the business opens more U.S. stores.

NATICK, MA — The Natick Mall is set to welcome back a familiar storefront this month.
Sur La Table will return to Natick Mall with an opening date set for July. This comes after the company held a space at the mall from 2011 to 2020, but closed after the company filed for bankruptcy protection in July 2020.
At one point in Massachusetts, Sur La Table operated stores in Burlington, Natick, Chestnut Hill and Boston. All four closed in 2020.

Now, however, it appears that Sur La Table is ramping up to begin an expansion that hopes to bring the company back to brick-and-mortar prominence.
“Following our recent retail expansion earlier this year, we are thrilled to continue the momentum with growth of our Sur La Table retail and ecommerce business, as well other key sectors of our brand including our private label collection, and growing roster of brand partners,” said Jordan Voloshin, CEO of Sur La Table.

“We are delighted to be able to continue to give our customers the latest and greatest offerings, as well as the innovative tools needed to create in the kitchen.”
In addition to Natick, Sur La Table will open new store locations in Albany, NY, at Stuyvesant Plaza, and Darien, Conn., at Darien Commons. The Natick and Albany stores are slated to open in July 2023 and the Darien store will open in September 2023.
These new store openings will have the "experiential retail activations that current Sur La Table stores are known for including the unique ‘Ask a Chef’ program where customers can get advice and recommendations from one of Sur La Table’s resident chefs and culinary experts while shopping throughout the store," officials said in a news release.
