Funds raised from the Natick event will go to Mass Debt Relief Foundation's debt education program.

News release from Mass Debt Relief Foundation.

NATICK, MA — Mass Debt Relief Foundation (MDRF) – a leading local organization that gives individuals negatively impacted by debt through no fault of their own a helping hand up through debt education and comprehensive legal services – is pleased to announce that it will be holding a pop-up dinner theater fundraiser in at the Natick Community/Senior Center Great Room,117 E. Central St., Natick, MA on Saturday, June 8, 2024 starting at 7:00pm for dinner and 8:00pm for performances.

Presented by Six Corners Entertainment of Boston & North Hollywood, CA, the event will raise funds for MDRF and vividly present how no one is immune from a catastrophic event that can cause them to spiral into suffocating debt. The four short plays will entertain the audience, along with the emcee, who will reframe the conversation around the topic of debt relief to break down many of the stigmas. “We want to bring this ‘taboo’ conversation out of the shadows,” says MDRF attorney Richard Ravosa. Tickets start at $35 for the plays only with a curtain time of 8:00 pm. Attendees can also choose the $75 option for the performance and a delicious Italian dinner catered by L’Avvocato Italian Catering. A silent auction with local businesses will also take place with winners announced at 9:00pm.

Funds raised from this event will go directly to MDRF’s comprehensive, customized debt education program. Donations will also be used to support ongoing legal efforts to help neighbors in the community, such as one woman who experienced a brain hemorrhage shortly after losing both of her parents and found herself unable to keep up with her bills. Through the help of MDRF, she was able to find meaningful and sustainable legal solutions and has now rebuilt her life, debt-free. As Ravosa highlights, “Through our compassionate counseling, we give our clients a helping hand up … not a handout.”

Ravosa goes on to state, “Since 2011, MDRF has successfully helped thousands of Massachusetts residents end their financial struggle and get a fresh financial start. Each individual has a unique story and challenging situations, such as being a victim of senior fraud, having to quit a job to be a caregiver, or battling their own health conditions. Those things make you feel like you have nobody to turn to. The team at MDRF treats each of these clients with the dignity that they deserve and empowers them to redefine their future while taking tangible steps to get there.”
